For this assigment i was asked to create a 3D map for the fan based Strategy game engine called SPRING. I was asked to demostrate basic balancing principles in the raw map.

The map was made using a basic texturing and heightmap tood called L3DT, Editted in Adobe Photoshop, recorded in Fraps and edited Windows Movie Maker.

This Video is part of my second year portfolio module, we where required to produce an RTS map in the fan made SPRING engine. I created the terrain using L3DT and photoshop. This Map uttilized various Balancing methods including symetrical balance and transitive relationships. The map was made to be played by 2 players. Whilst this is not the prettiest video, it shows that i have the ability to do more than “corridor crawling” shooters, and that i am able to think about the wider effects of changes i make to any levels i may produce.
